As part of the fleet expansion programme, Island Aviation Services Limited has signed an agreement with Bombardier Inc. Canada to purchase a Bombardier Q200 aircraft.

This agreement was signed between Bombardier Inc. and Island Aviation Services Limited represented by Ms. Stephanie Lee from Bombardier Inc. and Mr. Bandhu Ibrahim Saleem from Island Aviation. The signing ceremony was held at the Company's Head Office in Male', Republic of Maldives on Tuesday, May 30, 2006.

Delivery of this 37 seat aircraft is expected to be made in or about October 2006.

With this acquisition, the company's aircraft fleet will be increased to four aircraft (i.e. two Dornier 228, one Dash8-200 and one Bombardier Q200 aircraft). Currently Island Aviation operates flights to all four domestic airports in the Maldives .
